Dear Compatriots and Friends of Morocco,

This week marked the fourth anniversary of the devastating earthquake-tsunami that hit northern Japan on March 11th, 2011. At that time, on behalf of the Moroccan community in Japan, the Moroccan Business Club in Japan (MBC-J) conducted a relief operation for the tsunami’s victims. Again, BIG THANKS to everyone who contributed to the success of that relief effort.

Recently, an unfortunate disaster occurred in our beloved Morocco. The southern parts of Morocco were hit by devastating floods. Which caused a high number of deaths, injured and missing people; left thousands of families homeless; and destroyed many roads, bridges and villages (attached are some scenes of the catastrophe). Moroccans and friends of Morocco throughout the world are taking various solidarity actions. However with the exceptional cold wave that hits Morocco these recent days, the victims of the deadly floods are still in a huge need for much more urgent support.

To express the solidarity of the Moroccan community in Japan and of our Japanese friends to the victims of the deadly floods, MBC-J is inviting you to kindly join a collective relief effort as follows. MBC-J assigned a temporary Humanitarian Support Committee to coordinate this relief effort. This Committee will be collecting money donations, and then will send the collected contributions as a collective support to the victims of the deadly floods, via officially established humanitarian relief programs in Morocco. The collective donation will be contributed on behalf of the Moroccan Community in Japan and the Japanese friends of Morocco.

The southern parts of Morocco were recently hit by devastating floods. The deadly floods caused a high number of deaths, injured and missing people; left thousands of families and children homeless; and destroyed many roads, bridges, houses and villages (URLs below and attached pictures are just some examples of the catastrophe). With the goal to express the solidarity of the Moroccan community in Japan and the Japanese friends of Morocco, with the victims of these deadly floods, the Moroccan Business Club in Japan (MBC-J) established a temporary Solidarity committee – “Tadamoun Committee”. Which has the objective to coordinate an emergency relief effort out of Japan (“Tadamoun” is the Arabic word for Solidarity).
As part of this humanitarian operation, the Tadamoun Committee is now collecting money donations, with the goal to send a collective contribution to the victims of the deadly floods, via officially established humanitarian relief programs in Morocco.

The coordination committee (Tadamoun Committee) will collect every single donation, then contribute the total amount of money on behalf of the Moroccan Community in Japan and the Japanese friends of Morocco, via the official humanitarian relief program organized by CorpsAfrica, as described in the following URL: http://www.corpsafrica.org/morocco/
Tadamoun Committee will later report about the total amount of collected money, number of donors as well as the actions taken.

The collective donation will be contributed on behalf of the Moroccan Community in Japan and the Japanese friends of Morocco. A sympathy message will be added as applicable.

Please consider sending your donation at your earliest convenience by 31 March 2015  (Japan time). Tadamoun Committee is planning to send the collective donation to Morocco at yy/yy.
